In 2015, we have welcomed a number of new customers to the SciQuest family. While we like to shine the spotlight on our newest members, we also love hearing about the strides our customers are making to achieve more value through their procurement software. Since every one of our clients is part of an ongoing dialog pointed toward constant improvement, we initiated a conversation with one of our family members who recently completed their implementation, Drexel University.
Drexel University wanted to become more efficient and effective in their procurement process and determined that a fully integrated procure-to-pay solutions suite was the catalyst they were looking for in order to automate business processes, understand their spend data, enable suppliers, and improve contracts while increasing overall efficiency. Drexel selected SciQuest to help transform their manual paper-based processes to a more streamlined automated solution set. Within just a few months, the school has already started to see a positive ROI.
We sat down with Stephen Mack, Associate VP of Procurement Services to discuss the value SciQuest has brought to Drexel, "We have automated over 11,000 transactions, $54 million in spend, and we’ve easily enabled a number of our key suppliers in the system. All but 7% of our invoices are now automated. Virtually all of our purchasing transactions are going through SciQuest at this point."
Mack states that the value proposition of procurement lies in two areas: process efficiency and cost savings. SciQuest has helped Drexel achieve success in both, "I think if we were asked to make the same decision today based on having the same factors of importance, we would come to the same conclusion, that SciQuest is the right tool for Drexel University" says Mack.
